      war ein niederländischer protestantischer Geistlicher und ein führender Orientalist.
      Er wurde unter anderem durch seine Vergleiche der lateinischen und griechischen Bibeltexte mit den älteren Übersetzungen in orientalischen Sprachen und die Veröffentlichung einer hebräischen Grammatik und die einer vergleichenden Grammatik des Hebräischen, Aramäischen und Syrischen bekannt.
