- Beschreibung: Johann von Crane (1595-1673) war ab 1633 Reichshofrat des Heiligen Römischen Reiches. Zum Frieden von Münster wurde er von der Stadt Köln als Unterhändler entsandt. Der Schmuckrahmen zeigt einmal seine Amtswürde unter dem Kaiser durch den doppelköpfigen Adler an, dann sein Wappen mit dem Bild eines Kranichs lautmalerisch nach seinem Nachnamen entworfen des erst 1652 geadelten Beamten.

- Description: Johann von Crane (1595-1673) was the Imperial High Councillor of the Holy Roman Empire from 1633. He was sent by the city of Cologne as a negotiator for the Peace of Münster. The decorative frame shows his official dignity under the emperor by the double-headed eagle, then his coat of arms with the image of a crane onomatopoeically designed after his surname of the official who was only ennobled in 1652.
