      Italienischer Dominikaner, Bußprediger und Kirchenreformator. Er erregte Aufsehen mit seiner sich verschärfenden Fundamentalkritik der Kirche und war in der Republik Florenz von 1494 bis 1498 die geistliche Stütze nach dem Sturz der mediceischen Tyrannis. Er verteidigte eine breite politische Teilhabe gegen das Streben der Oligarchie nach Einhegung der Herrschaft.

He defended broad political participation against the oligarchy’s striving to contain rule.
