Das Blatt stammt aus dem Skizzenbuch des Künstlers und ist vermutlich als spontane Porträtstudie der jungen Frau entstanden, die kurz in ihrer Arbeit innehielt um Modell zu stehen. Die Zeichnung stammt aus einer Sammlung von Historien- und Sagendarstellungen mit nordischen Szenen und Themen aus der Hand des dänischen Künstlers Rondahl, der sich besonders als Zeichner einen Namen gemacht hat. Er lieferte die Entwürfe für zahlreiche historische, archäologische und literarische Schriften.

- Description: Portrait sketch of a young woman in the rural costume of a maid. The sheet comes from the artist’s sketchbook and was probably made as a spontaneous portrait study of the young woman, who paused briefly in her work to stand as a model. The drawing comes from a collection of history and saga depictions with Nordic scenes and themes from the hand of the Danish artist Rondahl, who made a name for himself especially as a draughtsman. He provided the designs for numerous historical, archaeological and literary writings.
